XpressDox provides a full integration with NetDocuments
There are a few steps to follow in order to save assembled documents to NetDocuments. This is an overview article; click on the links provided to access detailed step-by-step instructions.
Watch a quick demo of the XpressDox NetDocuments integration:
OAuth 2.0 Authentication:
The integration makes use of OAuth 2.0 authentication, which you can read more about here. oAuth authentication allows a specific XpressDox user to act as a specific NetDocuments user. The XpressDox integration uses user accounts, and not a service account, thereby allowing your XpressDox account to impersonate your NetDocuments account.
Step 1: Add your XpressDox instance as an application within NetDocuments
Adding your XpressDox instance as an application within NetDocuments is only required if your XpressDox instance is self-hosted. If you use our XpressDox Cloud or the Desktop, then this is already done and you can move directly to step 2 in the process. For detailed step-by-step instructions on adding your XpressDox instance as an application, click here.
Step 2: Configure a Foreign File System
Now configure a Foreign File System in the Desktop product. If you use our XpressDox Cloud or Desktop, simply select your region. If self-hosted, select your region and provide the Client Id and Client Secret which you received when you added your application in Step 1. For detailed step-by-step instructions on this configuration process, click here.
Step 3: Configure your Standard Folders
Next, configure your Standard Folders to control how the assembled documents are saved back into a Workspace in NetDocuments. For step-by-step instructions on how to configure standard folders, click here.
Step 4: Upload your Config file and optionally embed XpressDox into NetDocuments
Upload your Config file, and you can even embed XpressDox or specific templates into NetDocuments. Assembled documents will be saved to the NetDocuments workspace. For step-by-step instructions, read here.
