How to replace a server license - self hosted servers only
Once a year, you will find your server license needs replacing. Please follow these steps to apply the new license issued to you by XpressDox:
In your Cloud account, click Manage>License (note that this must be done by the Account Administrator)
Current License information is displayed. To replace the old license, paste in your new license key.
Click Update License at the bottom of the screen when you are done.
Failing that method, the process of replacing a license key can be done manually:
- Create a new text file at [Installation_Directory]\License\XpressDoxServerLicense.lic if one does not already exist.
- Open this file.
- Paste the new license key into this file.
- Remove any other files that may be in the [Installation_Directory]\License folder. Only XpressDoxServerLicense.lic should exist in this folder.
- Restart the application pool in IIS.
